WELCOME TO STEVE THE DOGMAN
Known professionally as Steve the Dogman, I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and Canine Behavior Specialist serving Northern Illinois and the Chicagoland area. With over a decade of hands-on experience, I have become one of the region’s most trusted names in behavior modification, aggression management, and obedience training.
My training career began in 2013 and quickly evolved from a passion into a lifelong calling. Over the past decade, I have volunteered with numerous rescue organizations, humane societies, and nonprofits, dedicating my time and expertise to helping dogs and their owners achieve lasting harmony.
In 2023, I launched Steve the Dogman LLC in honor of my late mentor, Dave “The Dogman” Benson, whose mission was: “Transforming lives with the power of the dog.” His legacy lives on.
Today, I specialize in creating customized, results-driven training programs designed for discerning dog owners who expect excellence. My holistic approach focuses on building confidence, trust, and clear communication between dogs and their humans.

I provide dog training services throughout Chicago, IL, and surrounding communities. Whether you’re in Naperville, Aurora, St Charles, Rockford, Arlington Heights, Oak park, Elmhurst or nearby areas, I am available to help you and your dog.
I offer both in-home training, where I come to you, and board and train programs at my facility. Wherever you are in the area, professional help for your dog is available.
